Lake Tahoe (West Shore) Summer Edition
West Shore is the best shore when it comes to Lake Tahoe. We live out there, so though we love the bumping vibes of South Lake and the incredible sandy beaches on the East Shore, go west young man. With its laid-back locals and hellos from everyone, it’s like 1970 camp lives on. A few of our favorite spots from ROVM founder Julie below. Give her a shout if you’re heading that way and she will meet you for some ROVM on the beach happy hour anytime at her local watering hole - Chamber’s Landing
Sunset view from Chambers Landing
ROVM ASSESSMENT:
Jaw-dropping beauty at every turn. Majestic trees, the bluest water, fresh pine in the air, and stunning weather make West Shore of Lake Tahoe one of our favorite places in the world. Keep your eyes peels because at any moment a brown bear might cross your path (don’t feed the bears).
Pack the cooler with ROVM White Peach Ginger to refresh after a big hike or Blueberry Yuzu to enjoy on your Paddleboard. Passionfruit Citrus to go with your boat day or evening happy hour at Chambers Beach
LOCALS ITINERARY:
Grab your morning cup of joe from Tahoma Market and a sandwich for your hiking pack
Head over to Emerald Bay and hike up Rubicon Peak to earn your booch
Make your way to Chambers Landing for one of their infamous punches (when we aren’t drinking ROVM that is our next go-to)
Grab your paddleboard and paddle from Chambers Beach for pre-sunset
Meet your friends at the top of Eagle Rock for a steep but quick hike to the top to end the day
Call up Sushi525 for takeout or head to Sunnyside for end of day dinner
DO:
Hike Rubicon Peak - Bonus points if you go all the way to the top!
Hit Rubicon Trail with your Jeep
Paddleboard out of Chambers Beach
Rent a jetski from West Shore Sports
Spend the day at Meeks Bay with amazing sandy beaches
Mountain bike Blackwood Canyon
Flyfish (more to come on our favorite spots)
STAY:
Camp at either Sugar Pine Point State Park or Emerald Bay State Park. You could also go to William Kent Campground but it’s a bit more crowded and you will hear the cars rushing by (who wants that on your camping trip?).
West Shore Cafe and Inn for our “more upscale” friends
The Lodge at Obexers
Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge
EAT:
Tahoma Market: We love their sandwiches and pizzas but great market for anything you need
Sushi525: Fantastic local sushi
West Shore Grill: Beautiful lake views complete this fine dining experience
West Shore Market: Follow their gram and see what their specials of the day are and then get that
Sunnyside: The deck is sunny, the fired zucchini is fantastic and the drinks are strong
Bridgetender: Favorite spot to bike to, sit at their outdoor bar, get shrimp tacos or a burger
Fire Sign Cafe: Ourdoor deck patio is awesome for sandwiches, salads, and brunch
